The concert is part of the KBS Symphony Orchestra's 'Masters Series' and will take place at 8 PM on the 8th at the Lotte Concert Hall. Vadim Gluzman, originally from Ukraine, studied under Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School of Music. Known for vividly embodying the powerful traditional performance style of the 19th and 20th centuries, he has received awards such as the Diapason d'Or, Gramophone Award, and BBC Music Magazine Award for his released recordings.
He plays a 1690 Stradivarius violin, once used by Leopold Auer, a student of the famous 19th-century violinist Joseph Joachim. In this concert, Gluzman will perform Mozart's 'Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major' and Brahms' 'Violin Concerto in D major' on the same stage. Covering a wide spectrum from Bach to contemporary music, he plans to showcase two violin concertos with contrasting charms.
German-born conductor Nicolas Negelle is making his first visit to Korea with this concert. He is emerging as a next-generation conductor, having been invited to prestigious European music festivals such as the Salzburg Festival and Bayreuth Festival.
