A Festival of Marine Leisure Sports, '2022 Yeosu Marine Festival' to be Held
Hosted by Korea Marine Boy Scouts Jeonnam Eastern Federation, held for 3 days from the 16th to the 18th
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that the '2022 Yeosu Marine Festival' will be held for three days from September 16 to 18 at the Yeosu World Expo Venue.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Jeollanam-do, and Yeosu City, and hosted by the Korea Marine Boy Scouts Jeonnam Eastern Federation, this event will feature various marine leisure sports competitions and abundant cultural performances.
On the first day, the 16th (Friday), a 'Competition Event Experience' will be held where visitors can directly experience marine leisure sports such as kayaking, SUP, and dragon boating.
On the 17th (Saturday), visitors can enjoy dazzling performances by the 7-member dance group Vista and trot singers Choi Ho and Na Hye-jin. On the 18th (Sunday), there will be an exciting cultural performance by the hip-hop dance group Old & New Crew.
Side events include various experience programs and events such as marine leisure experiences, marine safety classes, and cruise yacht experiences, offering visitors special memories.
The '10th Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries National Kayak Competition' and the '2nd Yeosu National Marine Leisure Sports Competition' will also be held during this period, allowing spectators to watch thrilling matches by the athletes in person.
The '10th Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries National Kayak Competition' will be held on the 17th with individual and team time trials for sit-on and sit-in kayaks.
The '2nd Yeosu National Marine Leisure Sports Competition' will take place on the 18th, featuring two events, SUP and dragon boating, divided into male and female youth, general, and elite divisions. This competition is being held for the first time in three years since the inaugural event in 2019.
