This course, conducted in collaboration with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute, aims to cultivate field experts and supply them to local defense companies to alleviate youth unemployment and the shortage of specialized personnel in regional defense firms.
The entrance ceremony was attended by about 10 defense industry officials from Gyeongnam, including Yoon Hyun-kyu, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation at Changwon University, Professor Park Jong-gyu, Senior Researcher Kim Seong-kwang of the Defense Technology Quality Institute, CEO Kim Seung-su of Onsoltec, Factory Manager Park Kyung-su of IT Science, Manager Song Jeong-hyung of Hanwha Aerospace, Executive Director Byun Yong-su of Bumhan Fuel Cell, and Research Director Lee Dong-ho of Geuma Hydropower.
According to the university, trainees will receive 4 months of common education in Introduction to Defense Industry and advanced specialized training, followed by 2 months of practical training programs at defense companies.
The advanced training is operated in tracks of Mechatronics and Defense Technology Management, reflecting the demand for defense industry personnel in Gyeongsangnam-do.
