Looking into the 'Ollyoung Sale'... Tints sold well in stores, large-size products popular online
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CJ Olive Young (hereinafter Olive Young) announced on the 7th that the number of customers who made purchases combining online and offline channels during the autumn 'Ollyoung Sale' exceeded 4 million. This figure represents an approximately 15% increase compared to the same period in the previous sale.
This sale was characterized by differing purchasing products and consumption trends across online and offline channels. In stores, many customers sought lip tints, perfumes, and mask packs. It is analyzed that customers mainly purchased product groups that are easy to experience or compare directly in one place.
On the online mall, purchases of large-capacity planned products such as toners (skin) and hair treatments increased. It appears that customers intended to stock up on products they had previously used during the sale period. Additionally, with an increase in premium cosmetics purchases for Chuseok gifts, the online mall showed a consumption pattern divided by the keywords 'cost-effectiveness' and 'premium.'
Through the same-day delivery service 'Oneul Dream,' many customers sought cleansing and beauty accessories. This reflects the demand to purchase beauty daily necessities that are consumptively used in everyday life by utilizing a service that allows fast receipt on the same day. As customers using Oneul Dream for sale shopping increased, the number of Oneul Dream orders on the first day of the sale, the 1st, exceeded 70,000, setting a record high.
Looking at the time zones, store purchases were highest between 6 PM and 8 PM, while online mall and Oneul Dream orders peaked between 12 PM and 2 PM. This is because customers mainly stopped by nearby stores on their way home from work to enjoy shopping or used lunchtime to shop on mobile devices.
On the online mall, orders surged between midnight and 1 AM. This is interpreted as demand for 'open run,' aiming to quickly secure special-priced products without missing out. During the Ollyoung Sale, various special price events such as 'Today's Special,' which offers different products daily at prices with additional discounts, are presented.
