Seoul Volunteer Center-KOICA, Recruiting Members for Education Cooperation Global Volunteer Corps
The Promise and Jump Education Cooperation Volunteer Group 'Edu-Corps' Dispatched Overseas
Addressing the Widened Educational Gap in Developing Countries Post-Pandemic
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Volunteer Center announced on the 7th that it is recruiting members for the education cooperation volunteer group 'Edu-Corps,' which aims to solve educational issues in developing countries, until the 30th of this month.
The education cooperation volunteer group Edu-Corps is a KOICA-NGO volunteer team formed by the Seoul Volunteer Center, The Promise, and Jump to address the educational inequality issues overseas that have deepened since the pandemic. Volunteers will be dispatched to East Timor, Cambodia, and the Philippines for one year starting from December this year, conducting educational volunteer activities targeting local children and youth together with local youth groups (university students, teachers, etc.).
Edu-Corps volunteers create a sustainable problem-solving structure even after their activities end by working together with youth and professionals in the countries where they operate. Edu-Corps members work with local youth to solve educational problems, enabling local youth to become the main agents in solving community issues.
Edu-Corps volunteers are expected to actively utilize their abilities to solve educational exclusion problems in developing countries, providing an opportunity for personal growth. As Edu-Corps members, they can operate local education problem-solving projects and receive support for travel expenses, living costs, housing, local settlement expenses, and activity support funds.
