New President of the Women’s Credit Association Appointed: Jeong Wankyu, Former CEO of Korea Securities Finance
Candidate Jeong Undergoes Public Official Ethics Committee Employment Review - Final Appointment as Association President to Be Decided by General Assembly Vote
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Jeong Wan-gyu, former president of Korea Securities Finance, has been recommended as the final candidate for the new Credit Finance Association chairman.
The Credit Finance Association announced on the afternoon of the 6th that at the chairman candidate recommendation committee meeting, Jeong, who received more than half of the votes, was solely recommended as the chairman candidate to the general meeting.
The chairman candidate recommendation committee consists of CEOs from 15 member companies, including directors from Lotte Card, Lotte Capital, BC Card, Korea Development Bank Capital, Samsung Card, Shinhan Card, Shinhan Capital, Woori Card, Hana Capital, Hyundai Card, Hyundai Capital, IBK Capital, KB Kookmin Card, KB Capital, and an auditor from Hana Card.
Born in 1963, candidate Jeong graduated from Jeonnam National University High School and Korea University with a degree in Public Administration. He also earned degrees from Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration, KDI School of Public Policy and Management, and Michigan State University College of Business.
He entered public service by passing the 34th Administrative Examination and served as Director of the Financial Services Commission's Small and Low-Income Finance Policy Division and as Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit. Recently, he served as CEO of Korea Securities Finance.

Meanwhile, candidate Jeong has received employment approval through the Public Officials Ethics Committee's employment review and is scheduled to be finally appointed as the 13th chairman of the Credit Finance Association for a three-year term after the association's extraordinary general meeting to be held early next month.
