Gwangju Nam-gu 'Daechoncheon Firefly Ecological Experience' Opens After 3 Years
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is resuming the Daechoncheon Firefly Ecological Experience Program, which was suspended due to COVID-19, after three years to provide opportunities for experiencing the natural environment and to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.
Nam-gu announced on the 6th that “participants for the ‘Daechoncheon Firefly Ecological Experience Program,’ held over two days on the 23rd and 24th, will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis.”
The number of participants is 250 per day, totaling 500.
Any Gwangju citizen can participate, and the daily number of participants is limited to 250 to ensure the smooth progress of the experience event.
Citizens wishing to participate can submit an application form through the linked site announced on the Nam-gu Office homepage notice from the 13th to the 15th for three days.
Participants will explore the 2.5 km Daechoncheon waterside firefly trail from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM on the 23rd and 24th. Before the experience begins, they will gather at the meeting point to enjoy side events such as firefly drawing and balloon art, and near Chilseokbo, they can also experience constellation observation with a telescope.
