Discussion on Resolving 7 Major Pending Projects and 4 National Budget Requests

Gokseong County - Democratic Party of Korea Gokseong Regional Committee Party-Government Council Meeting Held

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Jeollanam-do Gokseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) and the Democratic Party Suncheon·Gwangyang·Gokseong·Gurye (Eul) Regional Committee (Chairman, National Assembly member Seo Dong-yong) held a party-government council meeting at the Gokseong County Office Daetongmaru to seek ways to secure national funding for 2022 and resolve local issues.

About 30 people, including Gokseong county officials and key Democratic Party executives, attended the meeting. They exchanged opinions on seven major local projects and four national funding requests of Gokseong-gun and sought solutions together.

The major local projects discussed included ▲Southern region wide-area tourism development project, ▲Establishment of National Dongan Mountain Natural Recreation Forest, ▲Improvement project for road facilities on National Road No. 17 from Gokseong Amnok to Oji, and four other projects.

Additionally, Gokseong-gun emphasized the necessity of national funding support for the following national funding requests: ▲Improvement project for road facilities on National Road No. 27 from Seokgok IC to Gyeommyeon, ▲Installation of sewage pipelines in the Jukgok public sewage treatment area, ▲Maintenance of sewage pipelines in the Okgwa water management district, and ▲Creation of the Gokseong Taro Rural Convergence Complex Industrial District.

Chairman Seo Dong-yong said in his greeting, “I deeply empathize with the necessity of the national funding requests and the urgency of the local projects. We will actively cooperate to secure national funding through close coordination with the National Assembly and central government departments regarding the matters proposed by Gokseong-gun.”

Governor Lee Sang-cheol of Gokseong-gun said, “The major local projects and national funding requests are essential projects for our region. I expect the party to work hard for regional development in cooperation with the National Assembly, central government departments, and Jeollanam-do.”
