Hyundai Department Store Group Expands Synergy with Jinus... "Strengthening Online and Offline Marketing"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Hyundai Department Store Group announced on the 6th that it will actively expand synergies between its group affiliates and Zinus, a global furniture and mattress company acquired in May this year.
On the 6th, Hyundai Department Store Group opened the ‘Zinus Hall’ on Hyundai Department Store’s official online mall, and plans to expand Zinus pop-up stores to seven additional locations this month, including Cheonho, Jungdong, Kintex, The Hyundai Seoul, Chungcheong, Busan, and Ulsan stores, in addition to the existing Zinus stores at Hyundai Department Store’s Sinchon, Mia, and D-Cube City branches.
A Hyundai Department Store official said, “We will increase consumer touchpoints and run promotions offering discounts both online and offline so that more customers can experience Zinus products. We plan to further upgrade Zinus’s business competitiveness by leveraging Hyundai Department Store Group’s network capabilities and distribution channels.”
First, Hyundai Department Store composed the Zinus Hall on TheHyundai.com with various content introducing the brand identity and the compression technology called ‘Bed-in-a-Box,’ which delivers bed mattresses packed in boxes.
The Zinus Hall features a virtual reality (VR) showroom replicating the Zinus store located at the Sinchon branch. Customers can experience the store vividly by looking around 360 degrees as if visiting in person and can also purchase products.
Hyundai Department Store offers up to 70,000 Plus Points, which can be used immediately, to customers who purchase Zinus Hall products worth more than 300,000 KRW, including department store-exclusive mattresses and frames. A one-on-one consultation chat function is also provided, allowing customers to receive additional product information and personalized recommendations based on sleep habits and preferences.
Additionally, the Zinus Hall offers giveaways such as wedge pillows, contour pillows, and mattress protectors through events like the ‘Mattress-in-a-Box Game,’ which provides an overview of Zinus’s mattress packaging and delivery process, and the ‘Mattress Type Test,’ a customized product recommendation service based on sleep types.
Furthermore, Hyundai Department Store will open Zinus pop-up stores sequentially starting with The Hyundai Seoul and Busan stores (on the 1st), Chungcheong store (on the 5th), Kintex store (on the 16th), Cheonho store (on the 23rd), Ulsan store (on the 30th), and Jungdong store (scheduled for the end of September). The Zinus pop-up stores will offer up to 20% discounts on all products.
Hyundai Home Shopping, which has sold about 380 Zinus products so far, plans to specify target products by age group. It is also considering expanding Zinus’s overseas entry by utilizing sales channels secured by Hyundai Home Shopping in Taiwan and other markets. A Hyundai Home Shopping official said, “Most customers purchasing Zinus products are in their 30s to 50s, so we plan to prepare a lineup tailored to the characteristics of these age groups.”
