Typhoon Hin Nam No Approaching: Shin Kori Unit 3 Power Output Reduced
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] In preparation for the approach of Typhoon Hinnamnor, the Shin-Kori Unit 3 nuclear power plant has reduced its power output.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Sang-min) announced, "At the request of the Korea Power Exchange, to ensure the stable operation of the power supply transmission network, from 4:30 PM on the 5th, the output of the 1.4 million kW pressurized water reactor Shin-Kori Unit 3 generator will be reduced and operated at about 84% capacity."
The Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters stated, "We will do our best to ensure safe nuclear power plant operation by inspecting various facilities and operating the situation room in preparation for Typhoon Hinnamnor."
