Lee Yoo-mi, the actress who played Ji-yeong in the Netflix series "Squid Game," won the Guest Actress award at the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious honor in the American broadcasting industry. The Television Academy announced on the 4th (local time) at the 74th Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony held at the Microsoft Theater that Lee Yoo-mi was selected as the winner. The Guest Actress award is given to actors who play leading roles in individual episodes of a drama. Lee Yoo-mi, who portrayed the deeply pessimistic character Ji-yeong, triumphed over strong contenders such as Hope Davis, Sanaa Lathan, and Harriet Walter from HBO's "Succession," Marsha Gay Harden from Apple TV+'s "The Morning Show," and Martha Kelly from HBO's "Euphoria." "Squid Game" was nominated in seven categories at the ceremony, including Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Stunt Performance, Visual Effects, and Guest Actress.
