Foreign and Institutional Selling Pressure Turns KOSPI Downward... 2400 Level 'At Risk'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The KOSPI index turned downward as foreigners and institutions dumped shares.
As of 2:38 PM on the 2nd, the KOSPI index was recorded at 2403.97, down 11.64 points (0.48%) from the previous day. The index rose to the 2430 level during the session but gave up its gains and then turned downward. Foreigners and institutions sold approximately 159.4 billion KRW and 124.3 billion KRW worth of shares, respectively. Individuals alone bought shares worth 263.5 billion KRW, defending against the index's decline.

The KOSDAQ index also showed weakness. At the same time, the KOSDAQ index recorded 784.82, down 3.50 points (0.44%) compared to the previous trading day. The KOSDAQ index repeatedly switched between rising and falling. Foreigners sold shares worth 101.8 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions net bought approximately 82.9 billion KRW and 8.6 billion KRW worth of shares, respectively.
