Daegu University Holds Inauguration Ceremony for 13th President Park Soon-jin
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu University held the inauguration ceremony for its 13th president, Park Soon-jin.
The inauguration ceremony took place on the 1st at the Sky Lounge on the 17th floor of the main building of the Gyeongsan campus, attended by the chairman of the foundation, board members, alumni association president, former presidents, chairperson of the faculty council, and student representatives.
President Park Soon-jin is the first president appointed under the regular board system following the normalization of the foundation after 28 years since a temporary director was dispatched to Daegu University in February 1994.
Daegu University’s establishment of a presidential recommendation system through mutual consultation and agreement between the foundation and university members, and the democratic election process to select and appoint the presidential candidate, adds further significance to this event.
President Park graduated from the Department of Sociology at Seoul National University and earned her master's and doctoral degrees in sociology from the same university’s graduate school.
After being appointed to the Department of Police Science at Daegu University in 2001, she held various administrative positions including Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs, Deputy Director of Planning, and Director of Planning.

President Park Soon-jin of Daegu University stated, “The decline in the school-age population, concentration in the metropolitan area, and changes in higher education policies demand extraordinary efforts from our university.
