[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Lee Sang-geun, Governor of Goseong County, Gyeongnam, finalized and announced the pledges to be pursued in the 8th local government term on August 31.
Governor Lee finalized 70 pledges across 10 sectors to realize "Renewing Goseong, Empowering Citizens" by enhancing the completeness of the 8th term pledges and ensuring smooth implementation. This was achieved through departmental reviews, detailed plan establishment, advice from the pledge implementation evaluation team, and consultations with the policy advisory group.
The 10 sectors of pledges include ▲ Attracting shipbuilding and aerospace advanced industries, expanding traditional markets ▲ Making Goseong a business-friendly environment ▲ Establishing the best hub for agricultural, livestock, and marine products ▲ Population growth and job-centered Goseong ▲ Goseong with history and culture ▲ Creating a coastal tourism belt ▲ Establishing a comprehensive sports landmark ▲ Happy life, warm Goseong, uninterrupted welfare administration ▲ Creating a clean environment and establishing an educational administration town that attracts visitors ▲ Realizing administration based on fairness, trust, cooperation, and communication.
In particular, Governor Lee set a vibrant local economy as the top core value and plans to operate a corporate attraction TF team to attract aerospace and military parts factories (companies), expand unmanned aerial vehicle testing grounds and drone training centers, and attract industrial complexes.
Additionally, to create a competitive agricultural and fishing village, the plan includes ▲ expanding support for processing, distribution, and refrigerated storage facilities for agricultural, livestock, and marine products ▲ securing seedling nurseries ▲ expanding specialized complexes by region ▲ expanding support projects for collection and disposal of agricultural waste to create odorless clean livestock farming and securing shellfish seed breeding grounds.
Furthermore, the pledges in childcare and environment sectors will be steadily promoted, including operating childcare facilities by region, expanding services to alleviate transportation inconveniences for the elderly and disabled, extending the Youth Dream Voucher program, and creating and managing the Madongho Wetland Protection Area for ecological conservation.
To revitalize the cultural and artistic community, which has been stagnant since the COVID-19 pandemic, the county plans to create a Goseong where tradition lives by linking with Goseong Ogwangdae, Nongyo (farmers' songs), and the Mask Museum, and develop the Songhak-dong Tumuli as a themed tourist destination combining history and culture.
Also, by attracting various sports disciplines and fostering professional athletes, the county aims to rise as the nation's top sports mecca and strengthen support related to sports.
