[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Mr. A, who was arrested by the police on charges of special threats, including threatening former President Moon Jae-in and his secretariat staff with a weapon, has been indicted in custody.
On the 31st, the Criminal Division 5 of Ulsan District Prosecutors' Office announced that Mr. A was indicted in custody on charges including insult, special threats, and violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
According to the prosecution, Mr. A is accused of using a loudspeaker to verbally abuse and insult 65 times near the former president’s residence in Pyeongsan Village, Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam, from shortly after President Moon moved there in May this year until mid-August.
Mr. A is also accused of threatening the former president and his wife, who were out for a walk with their security guard on the 15th, by saying things like “How dare you come crawling out without fear?”
On the 16th, he was arrested on the spot on charges of threatening another person with a cutter knife while preparing for a one-person protest in front of the residence.

A prosecution official explained, “We judged that the repeated verbal abuse protests, which clearly intended to harass the other party, exceeded the scope allowed by freedom of assembly, and thus applied the law on stalking crimes for prosecution.”
