Boseong Police Install Safety Screens to Prevent Illegal Filming in Public Restrooms
Expected Effect of Alleviating Women's Anxiety About Illegal Filming
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] The Boseong Police Station in Jeollanam-do (Chief Im Jin-young) announced on the 26th that, amid rising social anxiety due to illegal filming, it has installed safety screens (partitions) to block illegal filming in 23 public restrooms, including the Boseong-eup 5-day Market and Yulpo Beach, where many people gather, in cooperation with Boseong County Office.
The safety screens display a warning message stating, "Illegal filming is a serious crime punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment or a fine of up to 50 million won," aiming to deter criminal intent in advance and effectively alleviate women's anxiety about illegal filming.
Chief Im Jin-young said, "We plan to continue expanding the installation of safety screens through ongoing cooperation with local governments and will do our best to prevent illegal filming and sex crimes."
