Wando-gun to Begin Operation of Marine Culture Healing Center and Marine Healing Park Next Month

Providing Opportunities to Experience Various Marine Healing Programs Starting September 23

[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that the Marine Culture Healing Center and Cheongsan Marine Healing Park, which are the infrastructure for the marine healing industry, have been completed and will pilot various healing experience programs starting from the 23rd of next month.

The Marine Culture Healing Center, located in the Sinji Myeongsashipri area, was built with an investment of 1.6 billion KRW on a 327㎡ scale, consisting of four buildings including the audiovisual building and olfactory building, and will implement various healing experience programs themed around the five senses of the human body.

In the audiovisual building, Wando’s beautiful natural environment is realized through media art to soothe tired eyes and ears from daily life, and the olfactory building offers a time for scent healing through experiences such as making perfumes and soaps containing seaweed from Wando.

The tactile building offers pottery-making experiences using marine organisms, and the gustatory building prepares experiences for making seaweed salads.

Cheongsan Marine Healing Park, located in Sinheung-ri, Cheongsan-myeon, was built with an investment of 2.2 billion KRW on a 6,517㎡ scale, including two buildings such as a smart healing hall and five pavilions.

Especially located in the pine forest on the beach of Sinheung-ri, Cheongsan-myeon, it provides a beautiful natural landscape and, at the same time, offers personalized health diagnosis using information and communication technology (ICT) to recommend healing programs suitable for each individual.

In the food healing hall inside the smart healing hall, visitors can taste healthy salads made with Wando seaweed, and in the seawater mist healing hall, inhaling seawater provides anti-inflammatory effects and relief from respiratory diseases such as rhinitis.

Additionally, in the five pavilions installed outdoors, various healing experiences such as foot bath healing, sound healing, seaweed pack healing, herb scent healing, and herb maekbansuk (heated stone) healing are available.
