KCC Develops Low-Temperature Curing Clear Coating for Electric Vehicles
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] KCC has launched '6143 QHS CLEAR,' a low-temperature curing clear coating for electric vehicles.
6143 QHS CLEAR is a high-performance coating primarily composed of acrylic polyol resin, enabling low-temperature curing that facilitates the protection of vehicle batteries. While conventional clear coatings require about 20 to 30 minutes at 60°C, this coating takes only 10 minutes at 60°C and about 30 minutes at 40°C. It offers excellent gloss and smoothness, allowing for a refined appearance, and its durability and weather resistance ensure that the initial gloss is maintained for a long time.
In particular, it meets all domestic environmental regulations, including the revised and enforced Air Quality Preservation Act Enforcement Rules of 2020, enhancing its eco-friendliness. Topcoat coatings, which form a transparent layer after coloring, must comply with a volatile organic compound (VOC) content standard of 420g/L or less, and 6143 QHS CLEAR meets this standard.
