Following last year, Lumina Horror Night Season 2 opened on July 30 and ran for 30 days until August 28, offering a horror experience program in Hwarang Forest.
During this period, about 18,800 visitors experienced Lumina Horror Night Season 2, an increase of approximately 4,700 visitors (33.7%) compared to about 14,000 last year.
Accordingly, sales also more than doubled. Sales, which were about 50 million won last year, jumped to about 130 million won this year.
The significant increase in sales compared to the rise in visitors was due to the program's upgrade and the adjustment of experience fees to a realistic level.
The success of Lumina Horror Night Season 2 can be attributed to the upgraded story, immersive experience facilities, and the actors' realistic ghost performances, which enhanced visitor satisfaction.
It is also analyzed that the anticipation of visitors who experienced Season 1 last year partly influenced the increase in visitors for Season 2.
Above all, it was an outdoor experience program that allowed people to escape the frustration caused by COVID-19, and it was a horror experience suitable for the summer season, which stimulated visitors' desires.
Ryu Hee-rim, CEO of Gyeongju Expo Park, said, “We provide seasonal programs to offer various content throughout the year with year-round opening. Since the summer season program Lumina Horror Night received a good response from visitors, we will prepare to provide a satisfying experience for visitors again next year.”
