Police Send Hanchedae Coach Who Assaulted Student with 'Hockey Stick' to Prosecution
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] A coach who assaulted students with a hockey stick has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 30th, according to the police, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul sent Coach A of the Korea National Sport University athletic team, who is accused of special assault and other charges on the 24th of this month, to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
Coach A is suspected of assaulting students he coached with a hockey stick and other items in the school dormitory around May. He is also accused of gathering students late at night and subjecting them to harsh disciplinary actions such as physical punishment.
The victimized students claimed that Coach A had been committing acts of violence for several years.
One student reportedly suffered serious injuries requiring 12 weeks of medical treatment after being beaten by Coach A.
