Gwangju Seo-gu Implements 'Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Measures'... Operation of Screening Clinics
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) announced on the 30th that it will implement a comprehensive plan for residents' livelihood stability to ensure that local residents and visitors returning home for Chuseok have a safe and comfortable holiday.
Seo-gu has established detailed implementation plans for 12 items directly related to residents' lives, including COVID-19 quarantine, operation of screening clinics, operation of the disaster comprehensive situation room, crackdown on illegal dumping of garbage, guidance and enforcement of illegal parking, price control, and support for marginalized neighbors, and has prepared 36 related measures.
In particular, in response to the resurgence of COVID-19, quarantine activities will be strengthened at multi-use facilities crowded with visitors returning home, and screening clinics and medical response teams will operate normally during the Chuseok holiday period to actively respond to emergencies such as the spread of COVID-19 and occurrence of emergency patients.
To this end, a total of 144 personnel from 10 situation teams including cleaning, traffic, medical, and disaster will be on emergency duty during Chuseok to maintain a situation duty system so that residents can receive necessary assistance immediately, and will make every effort to maintain a clean environment and traffic order.
For residents who urgently need certificates during the holiday period, 31 unmanned civil service issuance machines and a 365-day civil service office located on the first floor of Lotte Mart Max in the Sangmu district will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to issue documents such as resident registration certificates, seal certificates, and family relation certificates.
Kim I-gang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “We will meticulously establish and implement a comprehensive plan to prepare for the Chuseok holiday to minimize residents' inconveniences and do our best to prepare for various disasters and safety accidents.”
