Policy Planning Chief: "Invitation Letter for Inauguration Ceremony Still Exists... 'Personal Information' Emails Have Been Destroyed"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Lee Gwan-seop, Chief Policy Planner at the Presidential Office, stated on the 30th that regarding the guest list for President Yoon Seok-yeol's inauguration ceremony, the official documents exchanged remain, but several emails containing personal information have been destroyed.
Lee attended the full meeting of the National Assembly's Steering Committee that day and explained that the confusion over whether there was a guest list of about 45,000 people invited to the inauguration ceremony, and the explanations between the Presidential Office and the government side, was due to this.
He explained that while the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's official request for the list of attendees from various sectors remains intact, many of the responses were made via email, and for several tens of thousands of attendees who replied by email, the emails were destroyed due to personal information concerns.

Lee said that this is not significantly different from the response given by Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min at the Administrative Safety Committee the previous day or the response by Chief Secretary Kim Dae-gi at the Steering Committee on the 23rd, but "there were several confusions during the process of providing answers." He also added that the related official documents have not yet been transferred to the presidential archives and remain as public records.
