Boseong-gun and Yeonan Environmental Conservation Association Sign Business Agreement
‘Companion Beach & Marine Environment Education’ Completed to Raise Awareness of Marine Environment Importance
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 29th that it signed an agreement with the Coastal Environment Conservation Association (Chairman Lim Young-tae) regarding the Companion Beach & Marine Environment Education project.
The Coastal Environment Conservation Association is dedicated to protecting beaches and coastal areas and raising awareness of their value through the "Companion Beach & Marine Environment Education" program. Along with the signing of the agreement, the program was also promoted around the Hoecheon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center and Yulpo Solbat Beach area.
The education session included participation from various organizations and groups in the Boseong area such as the Coastal Environment Conservation Association (hereafter Coastal Environment), Boseong-gun, Boseong Tea Producers Cooperative, Goheung County Fisheries Cooperative Hoecheon Branch, Moa Leisure Industry Co., Ltd., Samsong ENC Ltd., Yulpo and Dongyul Fishing Villages, and Hoecheon Elementary School.
Under the slogan "Yulpo Solbat Beach I Love!! Let's Keep It Clean and Beautiful," the event featured a special lecture on "Marine Ecosystems and Environmental Conservation" by the Coastal Environment Conservation Association for about one hour, followed by a cleanup activity at Yulpo Solbat Beach and safety education by the Boseong-gun Civilian Rescue Team.
Through this environmental education, Hoecheon Elementary School and fishing village residents recognized the importance of the marine environment, which was highly regarded as a meaningful opportunity.
On-site, an MOU was signed pledging to adopt Yulpo Solbat Beach as a companion beach to continue ongoing management and cleanup activities. The agreement involved the Hoecheon Branch of Goheung County Fisheries Cooperative (Branch Manager Lee Hwa-hyun), Boseong Tea Producers Cooperative (Chairman Seo Sang-gyun), Moa Leisure Industry Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoo Hyung-eun), Samsong ENC Ltd. (CEO Lim Bae-seok), and Yulpo and Dongyul Fishing Villages (Yulpo Fishing Village Chief Lee Kyung-ja, Dongyul Fishing Village Chief Kim Young-in).
Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, stated, "Since Boseong-gun is home to the Boseong Beolgyo Mudflat, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, we have long recognized the importance of coastal and beach areas and have been committed to waste cleanup activities." He added, "Through the concept of companion beaches, I hope more people will actively cherish and protect marine ecosystems, and Boseong-gun will do its best to support this."
