[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Residents' Autonomy Committee of Geumho 1-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chairman Kim Yong-seop) held a residents' general meeting on the 26th to finalize the village projects to be carried out next year.

According to Seo-gu on the 29th, the Geumho 1-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee collected residents' opinions through subcommittee meetings since the beginning of this year, held a school general meeting last month to hear students' opinions, and proposed a total of eight agenda items to be discussed at the general meeting.

In particular, from the 19th to the 24th, to determine the priority of the agenda, voting posters were posted at all 23 apartment complexes in the district, and early voting was conducted by setting up street polling stations at major points to reflect as many residents' opinions as possible.

Combining the school general meeting, early voting, and on-site voting at the general meeting, the eight finalized village projects were prioritized as follows: creating a theme street in Hodong-i Village, revitalizing the food alley commercial district, creating our village history together, improving children's play environment, producing a map of our village, establishing a smoke-free zone with ZERO tobacco smoke, creating a green village to respond to the climate crisis, and operating hobby programs for residents.

The Geumho 1-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee stated, "It was a forum to activate resident-centered public discussion, discuss village issues, and seek solutions, realizing direct democracy," and added, "We will strengthen the public-private cooperation system to ensure the smooth implementation of the eight projects utilizing the village's unique resources."
