hy, Representative Strain 'HY2782' Obtains US Self-Verification GRAS Certification
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] hy announced on the 29th that it has obtained 'self-verified GRAS' for its patented probiotic 'HY2782'. GRAS is a system in the United States that evaluates the safety of food ingredients sold domestically, determining approval through expert committee verification based on genetic analysis and human application test results.
HY2782 is the representative strain used in all hy fermented milk and probiotic brands. Applying proprietary long-term culturing technology, it is a lactic acid bacterium resistant to bile and gastric juice, with excellent intestinal survival rate and adhesion ability, confirmed through internal research. Last year, four liquid and five solid products containing HY2782 were recognized for probiotic functionality by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Last year, hy completed certification for two main B2B materials. These are 'hyLabs Fat Slim' and 'hyLabs Skincare', probiotics with functionalities for body fat reduction and skin health, respectively. With this certification, the number of GRAS-certified materials owned by hy has increased to three.
hy plans to continue international-level safety verification for its strains. Through this, it aims to increase the proportion of self-produced raw materials in the domestic probiotic market, which is highly dependent on imports.

We will continue to lead the domestic probiotic raw material market based on global-level B2B material competitiveness.”
