"Cup Ramen with a Handle"... Nongshim Develops Industry-First Safety Handle
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Nongshim announced on the 26th that it has applied a foldable safety handle to cup noodles for the first time in the industry to reduce the inconvenience experienced when moving hot containers immediately after cooking.
Nongshim first applied the safety handle to Kaguri Keun Sabalmyeon, a microwave-only product cooked at a higher temperature than regular cup noodles. The company plans to consider expanding the application based on consumer feedback in the future. The safety handle is easily completed by tearing along the dotted line on the side of Kaguri Keun Sabalmyeon and inserting it inward.
Nongshim also posted content related to how to use the safety handle on social media (SNS) channels. The post received positive responses from consumers, with comments such as "It was too hot to hold, so this is a useful idea," and "It’s delicious and the thoughtful consideration is great."
