Pope Francis: "I Will Go If Invited to North Korea"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] “I will go whenever they (North Korea) invite me. What I mean is, they should invite me. I will not refuse.”
Pope Francis directly expressed his intention to visit North Korea in an interview with domestic media. This is the first time the Pope himself, rather than the Vatican or a third party, has expressed such an intention.
In an exclusive interview with KBS aired on the 25th (Korean time), Pope Francis reaffirmed his desire to act as a bridge in inter-Korean relations. According to the report, the Pope said, “The purpose of the visit is brotherhood,” and “I send my blessings and prayers for peace to everyone in both the South and the North.”
