Disney+ to Release Tom Hanks-Starring 'Pinocchio' Next Month
'Back to the Future' and 'Forrest Gump' Directed by Director Zemeckis
Online video service (OTT) Disney+ announced on the 25th that it will release Robert Zemeckis' "Pinocchio" on the 8th of next month to coincide with Disney+ Day. Disney+ Day is an annual event that delivers new content and events to Disney+ subscribers and Disney fans.
"Pinocchio" is a story about a wooden puppet named Pinocchio, born from the wish of the carpenter Geppetto, who embarks on an adventure to become a real boy. The film is directed by Zemeckis, who helmed "Back to the Future" (1985), "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988), "Forrest Gump" (1994), "Contact" (1997), "The Polar Express" (2004), and "Flight" (2012). Geppetto is played by Hollywood star Tom Hanks, and Pinocchio is portrayed by newcomer Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Famous actors such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Keegan-Michael Key also participate with voice acting.
