Mini Concept Car Featuring 'Pokemon Mode' Unveiled
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] The compact car brand MINI announced that it will officially sponsor Gamescom 2022, the world's largest game exhibition held in Cologne, Germany, for five days starting from the 24th. At the event, MINI will unveil the MINI Concept Aceman equipped with a Pok?mon mode for the first time.
MINI is the official mobility partner of this event. This is the first time an automobile company, rather than an e-sports related field, has sponsored this event. The MINI Concept Aceman, exhibited as the main sponsor of the Powered by MINI product exhibition hall, is described by the company as a model reflecting an approach that loves fun and pursues new challenges.
When switched to Experience Mode, the vehicle's central screen displays the representative Pok?mon character Pikachu, and the animation is projected enlarged onto the dashboard and doors. Pikachu possesses electric abilities, and the company explained that these characteristics align with MINI's brand direction promoting electrified models.
The vehicle design team created exclusive art toys for this event and also provided an opportunity to experience the concept car through a metaverse format. Stephanie Buurst, head of MINI, said, "A positive and future-oriented approach to personal mobility and uniquely designed cars are MINI's distinctive features."
