Hanmi Science Decides to Merge with Hanmi Healthcare: "Securing New Growth Engines Such as Health Functional Foods"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Hanmi Science, the holding company of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group, announced on the 23rd that it will proceed with a small-scale merger with its affiliate Hanmi Healthcare. The merger process is expected to be completed around November.
Hanmi Science plans to simplify its governance structure through the merger with Hanmi Healthcare and strengthen compliance among affiliates, thereby practicing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management to build a foundation for enhancing investor trust and shareholder value.
Additionally, Hanmi Science intends to develop Hanmi Healthcare’s health functional foods, complete soy milk, and medical device businesses into new growth sectors and leverage them as new growth engines.
A Hanmi Science official stated, “With the advent of the post-COVID era, the need to strengthen highly sophisticated and systematic global healthcare capabilities has emerged, and the demand for ESG management has also greatly increased. This merger is expected to serve as a foundation for innovation that firmly positions Hanmi Science as the holding company and further enhances the future value of the entire group.”
