Changwon Special City Conducts Realistic Large-Scale Anti-Terrorism and Fire Preparedness Drill
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam conducted a comprehensive anti-terrorism and fire preparedness drill at the Changwon Football Center main stadium.

The city assumed Changwon Football Center as Hyundai Rotem, a nationally important facility, and focused the training on bomb threat response and fire suppression.
Today's drill was a 'Comprehensive Anti-Terror Emergency Rescue Training' designed to simulate real situations, raise awareness, and enhance systematic response capabilities to prepare for national disaster situations such as terrorism or explosions at nationally important facilities.
The exercise scenario involved four unidentified terrorists infiltrating Hyundai Rotem in Seongsan-gu via Jinhae Port. Two terrorists used drones to disperse toxic gas, while the other two planted explosives on the facility and created a hostage situation, conducting the training as a national important facility protection and anti-terrorism drill.
Participating organizations included the 39th Division Military Police Unit, Changwon Battalion, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Support Unit, Gyeongnam Provincial Police Special Forces, Changwon Jungbu Police Station, Seongsan Fire Station, Changwon Health Center, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), KT, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Seongsan-gu Housewives Civil Defense Mobile Unit, and 12 other organizations and groups, with over 170 participants.

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, “Through this anti-terrorism drill, we will establish a strengthened civil-military-police cooperation system to protect the precious lives and property of citizens without any negligence,” adding, “We hope this will serve as a foundation to establish a seamless command system and improve mission performance capabilities to enable immediate response to urgent disasters.”
