Mentor Advice + Reader Feedback... Kyobo Bookstore Creative Support Platform 'Changjak-ui Nalssi'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Kyobo Book Centre announced on the 23rd that it has launched a creative support platform called ‘Changjak-ui Nalssi’ to discover and nurture new writers.
‘Changjak-ui Nalssi’ aims to be a space where creators and readers create works together. When a writer serializes a work, readers provide feedback on whether the story’s pacing is appropriate and if the protagonist’s emotional changes are natural. Writers can also directly ask readers questions and receive descriptive feedback.
A report summarizing related information is also provided. It offers star ratings for five components?characters, dialogue/narration, plot/structure, style, and setting/worldview?by episode, as well as demographic data such as the gender and age groups of readers who have read the work, especially for novels.
In the writer community, authors can share concerns and seek information from fellow writers. On the bulletin board, which consists of categories like creative concerns, work recommendations, and Q&A, various posts and responses from writers can be found.
One-on-one mentoring with experts is also available. Applications are accepted at any time, and selected works are announced monthly through a review process. Established writers such as Bae Sang-min, Lee Ha, and Hwang Yeo-jeong, as well as professors from Chung-Ang University’s Web Novel Creation major, serve as mentors.
Joo Ji-hyun, Executive Director of Kyobo Book Centre’s DBS Platform Business TF in charge of Changjak-ui Nalssi, said, “Changjak-ui Nalssi aims to be a ‘saimunhak’ platform, an intermediate area between general literature and web novels, moving away from web novel platforms mainly focused on romance and fantasy. Through creative support programs such as one-on-one mentoring services and specialized content unique to Changjak-ui Nalssi, we will strive to meet the needs of both writers and readers. We hope for the interest and support of many people.”
