Kyobo Life Insurance Opens Master's Program with Yonsei University... "Fostering Digital Talent"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 23rd that it has signed a business agreement with Yonsei University Graduate School of Information and will operate a specialized master's degree program in Kyobo Artificial Intelligence (AI) Big Data.
At the signing ceremony held on the 22nd at Yonsei University's Millennium Hall, about 10 officials including Daegyu Cho, Head of Human Resources at Kyobo Life Insurance, and Beomsu Kim, Dean of Yonsei University Graduate School of Information, attended.
Through this agreement, Kyobo Life Insurance and Yonsei University Graduate School of Information will work together to discover and nurture customized talent. Starting next month, Yonsei University Graduate School of Information plans to open and operate the Kyobo AI Big Data master's program specialized for Kyobo Life Insurance.
The Kyobo AI Big Data master's program is a regular 2-year, 6-semester course, and about 20 employees of Kyobo Life Insurance and its affiliates were selected through an internal application and organizational leader recommendation.
Classes for this program are mainly held on Fridays and Saturdays, providing education to understand and analyze applications of AI, big data, and data science. It is designed not only for in-depth learning but also to enable various project executions.
The program also attempts new integrations of recently spotlighted fields such as deep learning, big data statistics, and data science techniques with management and finance. The goal of these classes is to cultivate experts with innovative and technical capabilities.
Kyobo Life Insurance fully supports the costs required for the master's program. In addition, it plans to expand the partnership and mutual cooperation with Yonsei University Graduate School of Information.
In particular, Kyobo Life Insurance will be able to systematically secure professional personnel who will lead future growth during the digital transformation process. It is also expected that employees who complete the master's program will likely become pioneers leading innovation.
