Kwon Eun-hee "Disciplinary Procedure by Ethics Committee for Opposing Police Bureau Establishment... Ridiculing Party Politics"
"Criticism: 'Is it because it's a policy promoted by the president's close aide?'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 23rd, Kwon Eun-hee, a member of the People Power Party, criticized the Central Party Ethics Committee's decision to refer disciplinary action the previous day, saying, "They have made the constitutional and conscientious activities of a member of the National Assembly subject to discipline," and added, "'The so-called Ethics Committee' is ridiculing party politics."
On the same day, Kwon posted on her Facebook, stating, "Yesterday, the chairman of the People Power Party Ethics Committee sent a notice of disciplinary commencement to my office email, but the reason was not specified. Upon checking, it was said to be related to discussions opposing the establishment of the Police Bureau and calls for the impeachment of Minister Lee Sang-min (Ministry of the Interior and Safety)," she revealed.
Kwon said, "I will verify why support for the establishment of the Police Bureau became an ethical issue for the People Power Party in the disciplinary process," and added, "I will investigate whether this stems from the history of the People Power Party tracing back to the Democratic Liberal Party or if it is because Minister Lee Sang-min, known as the president's close aide, promoted the policy."
