[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will hold the "21st Busan Science Festival" at the Busan Cinema Center from August 27 to 28.
Co-hosted by Busan City and the City Office of Education, and co-organized by the Busan Science and Technology Council and the Creative Convergence Education Institute, the "Busan Science Festival" was held online for the past two years due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, the event will be held in person for the first time in three years, and it is expected to fully realize the purpose of the event as a place to experience science and technology culture.
This year's science festival is themed "Cine-Science Festival," introducing the scientific technologies applied in film production and allowing participants to experience various scientific principles glimpsed in actual movies.
The festival features expert lectures on films, performances such as science magic and theater, quiz games, and participation from 16 related institutions including Busan's science museums and science clubs from middle and high schools, operating a total of 90 hands-on programs.
The programs are divided into four halls: ▲Science Film (Film, principles of movies) ▲Imagination Film (Film, imagination and costumes) ▲Thinking Film (Film, lectures, performances, quizzes) ▲Together Film (Film, related institutions and schools), providing citizens with diverse sights and enjoyable experiences.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and detailed information about the event can be found on the Busan Science and Technology Council website.
On the 27th at 10 a.m., an opening ceremony will be held at the outdoor plaza of the Cinema Center, attended by about 100 people including officials from Busan City, the Office of Education, the Science and Technology Council, the Creative Convergence Education Institute, and university students.
