[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Mesh Korea, which operates the IT-based comprehensive distribution logistics brand 'Boorung,' is accelerating efforts to strengthen its food ingredient distribution business. The food ingredient distribution business is expected to grow to a scale of several hundred billion won within 2 to 3 years, and it is anticipated to create synergy with the existing food ingredient logistics business.
On the 22nd, Mesh Korea announced the establishment of a Food Ingredient Distribution Headquarters dedicated to the food ingredient distribution business. This move aims to expand the food ingredient distribution business, which recorded 10 billion won in the first half of this year. Mesh Korea expects significant synergy by running the food ingredient logistics business, which has been operating for two years, alongside the new food ingredient distribution business. This is because they already have the necessary full cold chain facilities, equipment, and vehicles for the business. Another strength is the secured supply sources and sales channels for food ingredients. Major food ingredient suppliers, large franchises, and over 120,000 local stores are Mesh Korea’s customers.
Mesh Korea plans to connect food ingredient distribution and logistics services, food ingredient suppliers, and buyers such as dining establishments on a single platform, and link it with Boorung’s delivery service, which delivers prepared food and beverages to the final consumer, thereby building an integrated database. The accumulated data will be used to optimize the entire process of food ingredient production, distribution, and consumption, as well as the entire process of cooking and sales at dining establishments.
