Kim Jong-in: "Yoon Must Embrace Lee Jun-seok... Surprised by 'Not Obsessed with Approval Ratings' Remark"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-in, former Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, criticized the 100-day achievements of President Yoon Suk-yeol's administration on the 20th, saying it "gave despair to the people." Regarding the conflict with former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok, he emphasized the need for "forgiving generosity."
On the same day, Kim, a former emergency committee chairman, stated on TV Chosun's 'Gangjeokdeul' (Strong Enemies), "Over the past 100 days, the government has failed to give hope to the people and instead has given them a sense of despair, which I personally find regrettable."
He explained that when President Yoon made remarks during a door-stepping event on his way to work, saying he would "not be obsessed with approval ratings," he was "surprised to hear that," adding, "(President Yoon) was able to become president thanks to public opinion supporting him during his clash with Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae when he was Prosecutor General."
He continued, "Therefore, it is only natural to listen carefully to public opinion and consider why the people feel this way, but there has been insensitivity so far," and pointed out, "The current situation (declining approval ratings) in the early days of the administration is absolutely unacceptable."
Kim said, "If the current situation is not quickly overcome and is postponed, the problems will become more complicated," and analyzed, "if those around him who lack political sense listen to opinions like 'just wait a little and things will get better,' they will lose the overall outlook on the administration."

Regarding the conflict between President Yoon and former leader Lee, he said, "I believe both sides share responsibility," but emphasized, "A leader must show the ability to endure and harmonize, but that is not clearly seen. Since they campaigned together during the election, there should be forgiving generosity toward (former leader Lee), but because that is lacking, this strange phenomenon has arisen today."
