During this visit to the US, the AmCham delegation met with key figures from the Biden administration and the US Congress, requesting that the US government prioritize Korea as a key ally in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF).
In particular, the delegation highlighted supply chains as a core area for economic security alliances among the four main agendas of IPEF, emphasizing the importance of security alliances and AmCham's role. AmCham also stated that it is discussing the formation of an IPEF working group that can closely cooperate with both the Korean and US governments.
Furthermore, the delegation stressed the need to increase economic incentives, such as enabling more Koreans to obtain US work visas, to attract more Korean investment into the US.
James Kim, Chairman and CEO of AmCham, said, "AmCham will continue to work closely with both governments to further strengthen Korea-US economic cooperation."
