Chairman Yoon Hong-geun of BBQ Surpasses 100 Billion KRW in US Market Sales Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Genesis BBQ Group announced on the 17th that it surpassed 100 billion KRW in sales in the U.S. market last year.
According to BBQ America, BBQ recorded sales of $76.9 million (approximately 101.1 billion KRW) in the U.S. market last year, a vertical increase of 41.9% compared to the previous year.
The number of stores opened in the U.S. also increased significantly. They operate about 100 stores not only in 19 U.S. states including California, New York, Washington, Texas, and Hawaii, but also in Canada, totaling around 250 stores in the North American region.
Based on this strong global business performance, BBQ plans to expand its presence in the U.S. by opening chicken cafes in the PUB format and launch BSK stores, a new delivery and takeout specialized business model, in the U.S.

A BBQ representative explained, “The BSK business was launched by BBQ in June 2020 and has become a profitable model contributing to the startup and employment expansion of young entrepreneurs, with the 2030 generation accounting for 60% of the total after COVID-19. The BSK service offers customers faster service and allows franchise owners to reduce labor costs.”
