Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Conducts 'Fire Safety Inspections' at 83 Temporary Housing Facilities
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will conduct fire safety inspections on temporary housing facilities for flood victims.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 17th that from the 18th to the 26th of this month, they will deploy 230 fire special investigators (112 teams) to conduct fire safety inspections at 83 temporary housing facilities across the province.
The main inspection items include ▲placement of fire extinguishers and fire hazard factors around temporary housing facilities ▲maintenance status of fire-fighting facilities and evacuation fire protection facilities ▲fire safety prevention education for flood victims ▲fire safety consulting for personnel in charge of temporary housing facilities.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters will especially strengthen fire prevention patrols around temporary housing facilities.
Nam Hwa-young, head of the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, said, "There is inevitably a possibility of fire occurring in temporary housing facilities where flood victims stay," adding, "We will do our best in fire safety inspections so that flood victims who have lost their homes can live safely."
Meanwhile, there are 1,260 flood victims in 637 households in the Gyeonggi area. They are living dispersed across 83 temporary housing facilities for flood victims, including local community centers, public facilities, and village halls within the province.
