BMW Korea Future Foundation Successfully Concludes 'Summer Hope Sharing School'
Support Program for Lunch and Cultural Experience for Children from Vulnerable Families During School Vacation Period
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] BMW Korea Future Foundation announced on the 16th that it has successfully concluded the ‘2022 Summer Hope Sharing School’ conducted in collaboration with Good Neighbors, a global child rights specialized NGO.
Hope Sharing School is a domestic child support project by Good Neighbors that provides various educational and play programs as well as quality lunches to children who are at risk of care gaps during school vacations, helping their balanced development. It is one of the representative social contribution activities sponsored by BMW Korea Future Foundation.
This summer’s Hope Sharing School was held for two weeks from the 1st, targeting 1,281 children at 82 schools and institutions nationwide. Lunch support and cultural experience programs were operated for the children, and through the ‘Future Dream’ program, which invites local professionals, children were supported to experience various occupations and explore career paths.
Additionally, a team project to enhance cooperation, titled ‘Creating the Future Hero Village We Imagine,’ was conducted. Participating children imagined the appearance of the ‘heroes’ needed in their village to solve the global issue of the climate crisis, and by creating works depicting the future changes resulting from this, they had the opportunity to recognize the importance of environmental protection and strengthen interpersonal and communication skills.
