Seoul City Holds Seoul Architectural Heritage Public Contest... Photo and Video Submissions Accepted Until September 30
Photo and Video Citizen Contest on the Theme of 'Exploring the Facets of Seoul Hanok'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government is hosting the 2nd Seoul Architectural Assets Citizen Contest under the theme "Exploring the Facets of Seoul Hanok" to share the diverse architectural elements of Hanok in Seoul and the daily records and values of modern utilization of Hanok.
According to Seoul City on the 16th, this Seoul Architectural Assets contest accepts submissions in the form of photos and videos under three detailed themes: "Hanok Elements," "Hanok Daily Life," and "Hanok Motif (Material) Creations." Any Korean citizen interested in Hanok can participate.
The detailed contest themes are divided into: "Hanok Elements," which captures architectural elements and partial views embodying the beauty and identity of Seoul Hanok; "Hanok Daily Life," which depicts various daily scenes and landscapes of Seoul Hanok currently used in modern residential and commercial facilities; and "Hanok Motif (Material) Creations," which discovers works, items, graphics, and other content inspired by domestic and international Hanok motifs (materials).
Submissions will be accepted from the 19th to the 30th by registering the creative works along with application documents on the Seoul Hanok Portal. Multiple submissions are allowed across photo and video categories but must be submitted separately, and duplicate awards are not permitted.

Winners will be selected through a two-stage evaluation process: first by experts and then by public voting. For each photo and video category, one grand prize winner (?1,000,000), two excellence award winners (?500,000 each), three merit award winners (?300,000 each), and five encouragement award winners (?100,000 each) will be announced in mid-October. The winning works will be exhibited at the "2022 Seoul Hanok and Architectural Assets Policy Promotion Exhibition" hosted by the city.
