Donation Delivered to National Disaster Relief Association for Rapid Recovery of Flood-Affected Areas
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Hanwha Group announced on the 12th that it will donate 1 billion KRW in relief funds to support the rapid recovery of areas affected by the heavy rain.
Six companies including Hanwha Corporation, Hanwha Solutions, Hanwha Systems, Hanwha Life Insurance, Hanwha General Insurance, and Hanwha Securities are participating in the donation, and the funds will be delivered to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
Hanwha Life Insurance and Hanwha General Insurance will defer insurance premium payments and loan principal and interest repayments for six months for customers affected by the heavy rain. They will simplify the accident insurance claim procedures and documents and expedite the payment of insurance benefits.
Meanwhile, Hanwha Group practices sharing management for overcoming difficult economic situations and co-growth with local communities by supporting disaster victims such as floods, wildfires, and earthquakes, as well as socially marginalized groups. The group has previously donated relief funds during the 2017 Gyeongbuk-Pohang earthquake, the 2019 Gangwon wildfires, the 2020 floods, and the 2022 Uljin-Samcheok-Gangneung wildfires. Every year at the end of the year, it donates to the Community Chest of Korea's 'Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign,' having delivered 4 billion KRW last year-end.
