Consumer Agency "Starbucks Summer Carry Bag Voluntary Recall Starts from the 11th"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Starbucks Korea (SCK Company) will conduct a voluntary recall of all travel bags "Summer Carry Bag" found to contain formaldehyde starting from the 11th.
According to the Korea Consumer Agency on the day, the National Institute of Technology and Standards confirmed the detection of formaldehyde after conducting an investigation and analysis of the product.
Accordingly, Starbucks decided to expand the measures it had been independently implementing since the end of last month to ensure the recall of all 1,079,110 products given to consumers as gifts or sold, and to carry out an official voluntary recall. Once the voluntary recall begins, the business operator must report the recall performance to the government and undergo periodic inspections of the recall status.
The Consumer Agency and the National Institute of Technology and Standards urged consumers who possess the product to immediately stop using and storing it and to take action through the Starbucks recall registration website, customer service center, and application (app).
