Shin Hyun-young, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said at the emergency committee back briefing that "Today, the Democratic Party leadership plans to visit the flood damage sites in the metropolitan area," adding, "Due to heavy rain, on-site inspection is necessary, and we plan to visit the temporary shelters to comfort the victims and hold meetings."
Spokesperson Shin explained, "Floor Leader Park, party officials, and the spokesperson group will go together," adding, "There is a possibility that local assembly members from Gangnam-gu, including the district chairman, and members of the Administrative Safety Committee will also attend," and "We are trying to send as many people as possible."
On the same day, Floor Leader Park said in the emergency committee's opening remarks, "The damage to the people caused by this heavy rain is indescribable," and urged, "The government should declare the concentrated heavy rain areas as special disaster zones and promptly prepare practical support measures."

He added, "A family suffered a tragedy overnight," and expressed, "I offer my condolences to the victims and bereaved families who lost their lives due to the heavy rain."
