On the 10th, SK Telecom announced that it had created the 'K-Digital Platform' at the SKT Boramae building for nurturing practical talents in the digital field, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and held an opening ceremony.
This 'K-Digital Platform' project is part of the 'Digital Convergence Training Infrastructure Establishment' initiative led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. Local small and medium-sized enterprises and training institutions will be able to jointly utilize the facilities.
The 'K-Digital Platform' established at the SKT Boramae building consists of two parts: an exhibition and experience space (AI Tech Lab) for nurturing talents in digital and new technology fields, and 'K-Digital FLY AI,' which develops and operates digital education courses for young people.
At the exhibition space, 'AI Tech Lab,' visitors can experience digital devices and solutions based on technology led by SKT.
SKT exhibits ▲ AI semiconductor Sapeon ▲ 'Supernova,' which converts low-resolution photos, voice, and videos into high-definition ▲ Vision AI, which uses AI to judge behavior types and guide customers accordingly ▲ AI-based machine vision that detects defective products, among others.
Additionally, SKT operates a project-based digital education course for young people (K-Digital Training FLY AI) to take the lead in talent development.
Since the end of June, SKT has selected about 50 participants for the first cohort and is conducting a total of 400 hours of education. The curriculum includes subjects such as cloud service development, machine learning frameworks, deep learning models, programming practice, and hackathon-style projects based on assignments proposed by SKT’s practical departments. SKT plans to operate two cohorts annually to nurture about 100 creative and technically skilled professionals.
SKT plans to hold various lectures and discussions in the 'K-Digital Platform' space to share the latest technology trends such as AI technology, digital transformation, blockchain, metaverse, and quantum computing.
The exhibition space, SKT's 'AI Tech Lab,' can be used by making a reservation in advance through the website. The AI education course (K-Digital Training FLY AI) selects trainees through public announcements. Schedules for tech trend lectures and discussion sessions for digital diffusion will also be announced regularly through various channels such as the website and SNS.
