Starfield Extends Support for Small Businesses to Goyang Following Hanam and Anseong

Starfield Goyang announced that on the 9th, it signed a win-win business agreement for the 'Samsong Shopping District Value Coexistence Project' together with Goyang City, the Samsong Shopping District Merchants Association, and the social welfare corporation Yeolmae Nanumdan.
The signing ceremony held at Goyang City Hall was attended by Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, Kang Doohyun, President of the Samsong Shopping District Merchants Association, Kim Chuin, Secretary General of Yeolmae Nanum Foundation, and Lim Youngrok, CEO of Shinsegae Property, among others.
This 'Samsong Shopping District Value Coexistence Project' is Starfield's fourth traditional market revitalization project following the development of signature new menus at Hanam Sinjang Market, branding of Deokpung 5-day Market, and renewal of Anseong Matchum Market. It is regarded as a representative ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) value management activity of Shinsegae Property.
Through this Samsong Shopping District business agreement (MOU), Starfield plans to fully leverage the know-how accumulated from successfully developing and operating Starfield, as well as the experience gained from traditional market revitalization projects in Hanam and Anseong, to provide unwavering support for strengthening the business capabilities of Samsong Shopping District.
Shinsegae Property will develop a brand concept that gives a unified feel to the entire Samsong Shopping District and enhances its image. They plan to strengthen the identity of Samsong Shopping District by designing CI, signage, shared fixtures, and face-to-face spaces.
To develop core content that attracts visitors to Samsong Shopping District, one-on-one consulting will be conducted for each store. For food and beverage stores, star chefs such as Choi Hyunseok and Park Geonyoung will collaborate to pass on special recipes that can only be tasted in Samsong Shopping District. For general stores where product display is important, VMD and interior experts will handle everything from space consulting to construction to enhance completeness.
Since July, education to strengthen merchant capabilities has been underway for all merchants, focusing on basics of store operation such as VMD (Visual Merchandiser) and marketing.
The newly transformed Samsong Shopping District is scheduled to reopen in October, and Starfield Goyang plans to continue consulting to ensure smooth store operations thereafter.
Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, said, “We signed this MOU with the intention of revitalizing not only Samsong Shopping District but also Samsong Village urban regeneration together with Goyang City and Starfield Goyang. We expect that the expertise of Shinsegae Property and various innovative projects of the city will create synergy.”
