[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] SPC Samlip announced on the 9th that its operating profit for the second quarter of this year reached 23.59 billion KRW, an increase of 61.5% compared to the same period last year.
During the same period, sales rose 14% to 814.95 billion KRW, and net profit increased by 57.5% to 15.984 billion KRW.
An SPC Samlip official explained, "The strong performance of the bakery business, including Pokemon Bread, and the rest area business drove the overall results."
SPC Samlip's Pokemon Bread has been experiencing a shortage since its release on February 24. According to SPC Samlip, the cumulative sales of Pokemon Bread reached approximately 44 million units as of the end of last month.

With the increasing demand for Pokemon Bread, SPC Samlip recorded its highest-ever performance in the first quarter as well. Sales reached 724.8 billion KRW, an 11.1% increase compared to the same period last year. This is the first time first-quarter sales exceeded 700 billion KRW. Operating profit for the same period rose 30.1% to 13.6 billion KRW, and net profit increased 25.3% to 7.8 billion KRW.
