The on-site inspection was conducted to assess the safety and health management status of the shipbuilding industry, a representative industry in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions, and to strengthen the practical effectiveness of industrial accident prevention projects.
He visited the site of a serious accident that occurred last March, where a subcontractor worker performing elevator maintenance died after a tower crane wire and metal socket fell, to check the safety measures and verify their implementation.
During a meeting with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering CEO Park Doo-sun, Director An urged that no industrial accidents occur during the delayed processes following a long-term strike. He emphasized the shipyard’s company-wide focus on preventing serious accidents.
