'Kim Seung-yeon Hanwha Chairman's Wife' Seo Young-min Passes Away at Age 61
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] Seo Young-min, the wife of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon, passed away at the age of 61.
According to the business community on the 9th, Seo had been battling cancer and recently passed away at a hospital in the United States. A Hanwha Group official stated, "Due to circumstances overseas, the funeral arrangements have not yet been decided."
Seo is the daughter of Seo Jeong-hwa, a senior advisor of the People Power Party who served as a member of the National Assembly from the 12th to the 16th sessions and as Minister of the Interior.

She married Chairman Kim in 1982. They had three sons: the eldest, Kim Dong-gwan, President of Hanwha Solutions; the second son, Kim Dong-won, Vice President of Hanwha Life Insurance; and the youngest, Kim Dong-seon, Executive Director of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts.
